WE RECOGNIZED A NEED:

As students’ mental and emotional health and social struggles become an increasing concern among educators and parents, there is an urgent need to provide effective, long-term solutions.

WE EMBRACED THE MISSION:

The I AM WORTHY program builds a solid foundation of mental and emotional wellness and character in students by instilling strategic core values essential to the healthy formation of self-worth, creating long-lasting positive outcomes for individual students and their schools, homes, and communities. 

WE DEVELOPED A strategy:

Based on cognitive behavioral therapy, there are specific, universal, affirmation-based truths that, when understood and internalized, produce personal core values proven to form a stable and resilient foundation of mental and emotional health and character. Conversely, the absence of these personalized core values results in mental, emotional, and social instability and decline. 


With this in mind, the I AM WORTHY program partners with schools and parents to instill 21 specific affirmations in students, utilizing turnkey, engaging multimedia presentations and the essential component of repetition. 

WE met and exceeded STATE REQUIREMENTS:

As of August 1, 2021, the state of Texas requires public schools, K-12, to implement Positive Character Traits Education into instructional time. The I AM WORTHY video curriculum meets and exceeds the following stated criteria and is beneficial for students throughout the United States:

  • Courage
  • Trustworthiness, including honesty, reliability, punctuality, and loyalty
  • Integrity
  • Respect and courtesy
  • Responsibility, including accountability, diligence, perseverance, self-management skills, and self-control
  • Fairness, including justice and freedom from prejudice
  • Caring, including kindness, empathy, compassion, consideration, patience, generosity, charity, and interpersonal skills
  • Good citizenship, including patriotism, concern for the common good and the community, responsible decision-making skills, and respect for authority and the law
  • School pride
  • Gratitude

WE'VE SEEN RESULTS—THE STATS:

After just six weeks of once-a-week lessons in a Houston ISD high school conveying the first three affirmations—I am meant to be, I am worthy of love, and I deserve to feel safe at all times—students were invited to complete an anonymous survey. The results far exceeded expectations:


  • 100% reported that their sense of self-worth improved; half reported it improved greatly. 


  • All but one student reported the value they place on others improved; half reported it improved greatly. 


  • All but one student reported a desire to improve their grades; 81% of those reported greatly desiring to do so.

  

  • 90% reported they were more motivated to attend school on days when they know I AM WORTHY will be taught; 76% of those reported they were a lot more motivated to attend.

  

  • 86% reported their overall mood and emotional state improved; half of those reported it improved a lot.
